The IBTA represents nearly 50 telecommunications and broadband service providers in Illinois and more than 80 additional businesses that provide products and services to the Illinois broadband and telecommunications industry.
Illinois broadband and telecommunications companies have advanced networks that provide voice, wireless, high-speed Internet and video services to homes, businesses, schools, hospitals, and first responders throughout the state. The industry is a major employer in Illinois and Illinois broadband and telecommunications providers have invested billions of dollars in the latest technology to build advanced networks.
Competition and innovation in the broadband and  telecommunications industry continue to change the way we live, work, learn, and have fun. Consumers are benefiting from the constant evolution of new technology, products and applications.
The IBTA advocates for regulatory and legislative policies that allow broadband and telecommunications service providers to thrive in this competitive and dynamic industry to provide consumers and businesses with the products and services they demand. Â
